The Classy Canine -Terms & Condition
Your pet is very important to me at Classy Canine Spa (CCS). I would like to assure you that every effort will be made to make your pets grooming experience, as safe and as pleasant as possible. Safety comes first for everyone during the grooming process, people as well as pets. All pets must arrive on leash on in a carrier. I will not take responsibility of a pet taking off when entering or exiting the owners vehicle.
-
At The Classy Canine - Grooming Studio I prioritize one-on-one grooming sessions to provide the best care for your pets. I groom each dog from start to finish, with no kennel time or downtime between appointments, which keeps me fully occupied throughout the day.
All appointments and inquiries are managed 100% online for smoother scheduling and better organization. I do not accept phone calls during business hours, as my focus is on the pets in my care. You are welcome to text me with any questions, and I will respond as soon as possible between appointments.
Unless there is an emergency, phone calls will not be answered. This policy ensures that I can provide your pets with my full attention and maintain an efficient schedule.

Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. All medical expenses for Veterinary care, due to these problems, will be covered by the animal’s owner upon reading and understanding this form and it’s policies.
-
Although accidents are very rare, there is always a risk when working with pets. Grooming equipment is sharp, and although we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quickening of nails, etc. In most cases this can happen when a pet is wiggling or moving around. Your pet’s safety and comfort is our number one priority. In the event an accident does occur, you will be notified of the accident. If CCS feels it is serious, and the owner is not on-site, CCS will seek immediate Veterinary care for your animal.

I’m committed to keeping my salon clean and parasite-free to ensure the health and safety of every pet I groom. If your dog has fleas, ticks, or lice, I recommend taking them to a veterinarian to address the issue before booking a grooming appointment.
If I find any parasites during grooming, I will stop the session immediately, send your pet home, and charge you the full grooming fee. A $150 clean-up fee will also be applied to cover the extra sanitation needed to maintain a safe, parasite-free environment.
Once the parasite issue has been resolved, please reach out to reschedule your appointment.
-
CCS has the right to refuse any services at any time. In the event that your pet is too stressed or becomes dangerous to groom, CCS has the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services, or cancel grooming services at any time before, during, or after grooming and the client will be charged a grooming fee (for what was done up until that point).
-
Muzzling does not harm your pet and protects both the pet and the groomer. In some cases, muzzling may even calm a stressed pet, allowing the grooming process to continue. If a pet still acts in a way that is dangerous, CCS has the right to stop grooming services at any time and a service fee will be collected. We do not muzzle unless your pet gives us a reason to. Other methods are used to calm your pet, muzzling is a last resort.
-
I take great care in selecting the best products for your pets skin and coat condition. I stay away from strongly fragmented products as they tend to cause reactions, but reactions can happen. If your dog has a reaction to a grooming product, please make us aware of it within 24hrs from your visit. All medical expenses for Veterinary care, due to the reaction, will be covered by the animal’s owner upon reading and understanding this form and it’s policies.
-
For the safety of your pet and myself as the groomer, I kindly ask that you do not interrupt me during the grooming process. If you arrive to pick up your pet while I’m still grooming, I will need you to wait in your car until the service is complete.
I make every effort to ensure that your pet is groomed safely; however, an excited pet can pose a danger during grooming. If you insist on speaking to your pet or me while I’m working, I reserve the right to end the grooming session, even if the grooming is not finished. In that case, the full grooming price will be charged.
-
Since appointments are scheduled by the hour, last-minute cancellations leave unfilled time that could have been offered to another client. To avoid this, I kindly request that cancellations be made at least 24 business hours in advance. Late cancellations will require a $25 deposit to book your next appointment.
For new clients, failure to cancel or no-show without communication will result in being blacklisted from future bookings. However, if something unexpected happens, please reach out, and I’ll do my best to accommodate the situation.
-
Your satisfaction is important to us. If you are unhappy for any reason, and would like something adjusted, We will be happy to make any adjustments when you pick-up your pet from his/her appointment. Once, however, you take your pet home from the appointment, any return visits will be treated as a new appointment and client may be charged a grooming fee to be determined by the extensity of the adjustment.

De-matting Policy
Pets with severely matted coats require extra attention. Mats in a pet’s coat grow tight, and can ultimately damage and tear the pet’s skin, which provides a breeding ground for parasite infestations. CCS will not cause serious or undue stress to your pet by de matting them. Mats can be very difficult to remove, and may require the pet to be shaved. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts or abrasions due to skin growths trapped in the mats.
Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, producing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. After- effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, bruising, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of the hair to grow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes.
It is the OWNERS duty of care towards their pet to maintain the coat between professional grooming. If owners fail to attend to their pets’ coat, then in the interests of the animal, I will shave off matted areas to prevent unnecessary suffering. I will be more than happy to show you how to look after your dogs’ coat.
When a dog is presented to me in a severely matted condition, it is my policy to shave the whole coat using electric clippers with a close blade. To de-matt would cause the animal tremendous stress and discomfort, often leaving a very thinned and damaged coat. Shaving the coat is quicker and kinder to dog. Many dogs are traumatized by unnecessary hours of de-matting, putting them off grooming for life. I consider shaving an act of kindness.
NOTE: DEMATTING CAN BE A LENGTHY & TEDIOUS EXERCISE FOR BOTH THE GROOMER AND THE DOG & ADDITIONAL TIME WILL BE CHARGED.
I charge $15 for every 15 minutes (or $1 per minute) spent dematting and if I say its safe to do so . As Treatments may vary slightly with certain dog breeds, prices are subject to an initial consultation. Dogs that need de-matting and/or bite may incur additional fees.
Prevention is the best defense by scheduling regular grooming appointments, every 6-8 weeks. If your pet needs to be shaved to remove matting, by reading this and booking your appointment, you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure, and any risk. There will be an additional charge for this process: it is time consuming, and causes extra wear and tear on grooming equipment.
